Acne is caused by an imbalance between two types of blood vessels:
The main blood vessels are the sebaceous glands, located on the skin under the surface of the skin. These glands produce sebum, which is a watery, sticky secretion that serves as a barrier between the skin and the rest of the body. Sebaceous glands also produce sebum. The main purpose of sebum is to draw water into the skin and prevent skin oils from seeping out of the pores. The sebaceous glands produce the major component of the sebum, which is called sebum acid. Sebum acid is made up of a variety of different fatty acids. In the most common formulation, the glycerin is replaced with a glycerol which helps the skin to retain moisture. Sebum acid is often replaced by other ingredients, such as propylene glycol and benzoyl peroxide. If you want to know which products really work, read this post here, because there are so many other ingredients in the formulations and it is not very obvious which ones have the strongest effects. In this post I will focus on one of the most common products that people buy: Burt's Bees Acne & Body Cleanser. I will give you a short overview of the ingredients of this product, but there are many others. This is not just a list of ingredients for your eyes, ears, nose, etc.
